Khimki decided on keeping the team captain and vice-captain in Sergey Monia and Egor Vialtsev for the next season, the club announced.

This will be Monia’s 11th season with the team while Vialtsev has one less as they have been in the club since 2010 and 2011 respectively. Monia will become the first player in club history to spend so long with the team.

“Sergey and Egor are the heart of the team, our watchmen. And we had no questions about extending the contracts. They are my assistants, they keep discipline both in the locker room and in the game. Of course, now they do not get as much playing time as before. But I’m sure of them, they never let me down. When fighting qualities are needed in a game, I always have two players who will give one hundred percent, give the team the spark they need, they are those who are ready to die on the court for the club, “ coach Rimas Kurtinaitis said.
