Matthew Marsh moves from FC Barcelona to LDLC ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne.

LDLC ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne added Matthew Marsh (#13 in the above team photo), the French club announced on Wednesday. The 18-year-old British center inked a two-year contract.

The press release notes that the youngster will be introduced to the senior squad during the 2020-21 season. Marsh is coming from FC Barcelona participating in the 2018-19 and 2019-20 editions of the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament.

“Similar to Matthew Strazel last season, Matthew Marsh will join the professional squad at the beginning of the school year aiming to make the most out of the opportunity,” said president Tony Parker’s advisor Francois Lamy, “He is a solid athlete who obviously has to progress in all aspects of his game but has the potential to reach the top level.”

The newcomer was actually part of the Basketball without Borders camp in Latvia last summer alongside Matthew Strazel. The former was promoted to the senior team last season and appeared in 16 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games averaging 4.0 points per match.
