CSKA Moscow president Andrey Vatutin revealed to Izvestia that head coach Dimitris Itoudis will be offered a contract extension with one year remaining on his ongoing agreement with the Russian powerhouse. The 49-year-old Greek coach has been the CSKA boss since 2014.

“We are absolutely satisfied with his work. We will not delay extending his contract,” noted Vatutin, “Our immediate plans include extending our contracts with the whole staff.”

Itoudis will be entering his seventh season at the helm of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague participant approaching the longest stints in team history set by legendary head coaches of the past. His success is highlighted by the 2016 and 2019 EuroLeague titles.

Another topic discussed by the CSKA president is the next captain after Kyle Hines. “We will discuss with the players and make a decision together,” he said, “Nikita Kurbanov, Will Clyburn, Semyon Antonov, Daniel Hackett, and Mike James may become the captain.”
