Four players scored in double figures for Zalgiris Kaunas as the team defeated Panathinaikos Athens 81 – 74 in the second semifinal of EuroLeague’s “We are Back” preseason tournament in Lithuania.
Rokas Jokubaitis led all Zalgiris‘ scorers with 16 points in in 17:41 minutes while Joffrey Lauvergne posted a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds. Marius Grigonis dropped 14 points and Thomas Walkup 13.
Walkup also hit a key 3-pointer for the 79 – 61 with a minute left to play. Dinos Mitoglou answered with the same currency for Panathinaikos but that was the last his team scored in the game.
Panathinaikos’ newcomers Nemanja Nedovic (22 points) and Pierre Jackson (18 points, five assists) were the top offensive contributors for their team.
Zalgiris will play against Olimpia Milano in the final. The latter downed Alba Berlin in the tournament’s opener.
