Josep Puerto was loaned to TAU Castello but was recalled by Valencia prior to officially launching a second straight season with the LEB Oro team, his parent team announced Monday.
Valencia opted to end the youngster’s loan assignment shortly after Joan Sastre was sidelined due to a right knee injury. The 28-year-old swingman got hurt during the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague opener versus LDLC ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne.
Puerto, 21, will report for practice with the senior squad Tuesday, a couple of days before the scheduled EuroLeague Round 2 away game opposite to Real Madrid.
