Sarunas Jasikevicius will be back for FC Barcelona, but an unnamed player returned a positive coronavirus test

The coronavirus spread to the playing personnel of FC Barcelona with one member of the senior squad testing positive, the Spanish powerhouse announced Sunday. However, head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius was cleared for the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague double-game week, as mentioned in the press release.

Jasikevicius and assistant Darius Maskoliunas tested positive last week, therefore missed the trip to Russia and the EuroLeague Regular Season Round 2 match opposite to Zenit Saint-Petersburg. The upcoming two-game week features a road challenge versus Valencia Tuesday and Panathinaikos OPAP at home Thursday.

The latest coronavirus tests for players and staff members were done during the weekend. One player returned a positive result adding on the concerning trend for Europe’s premier club competition.
