Barcelona announced that Nikola Mirotic won’t be able to play tonight against Real Madrid in Round 5 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
EuroLeague’s protocol states that the player found positive can’t return to play for 14 days since he tested positive or from the last day he was showing symptoms.
Mirotic did all the tests necessary, has recovered completely and was practicing with the squad but he doesn’t meet all the criteria set by the protocol and will have to sit out of this one.
“We tried everything, we did all the tests, and although I am fully recovered, it was not possible. The protocol of the EuroLeague won’t let me. A shame, but it only remains to accept it and support the boys,” Mirotic wrote via Twitter.
