Pablo Laso spoke to the media in front of the EuroLeague game against CSKA Moscow and among other things, confirmed Eurohoops’ report that Real Madrid won’t be signing new players in order to replace Facundo Campazzo who left for the NBA and the Denver Nuggets.

“Right now I can’t see it. Although signing someone or not is something that will happen in the future. I always say that Madrid is paying attention to the market because it is an obligation,” the coach said and noted that the system of Real Madrid mustn’t change because of one player leaving.

“The style of the team is something non-negotiable, just as it’s impossible to replace a player who is out. We can’t ask Laprovittola and Alocén to be like Facu. It’s a team thing and Real Madrid must be, at all times, recognizable, recognized and competitive. We’ve lost a great player, that’s for sure, but the strength of the team must be in the team and not in a single player.”

He also commented on how he feels about the many players that moved on from the Whites: “I would like everyone to stay at Real Madrid, but I understand the players perfectly. What I also understand is that Madrid has done a great job with them. I feel proud when I see them on TV and I get annoyed when I play against them. I look at them with affection and wish them the best and I feel proud of their development and that they are improving.”
