The news of Diego Maradona death came as a shock to Zalgiris Kaunas’ Argentinian forward Patricio Garino who described his emotions as the same as the ones he felt when Kobe Bryant perished earlier in 2020.
“I was actually at the supermarket and my dad and a bunch of friends started texting me about it. It caught me a surprise. He had a rough few last days. He had a surgery I think a week ago. Everybody was thinking that he was going to be fine but that wasn’t the case,” Garino said for Zalgiris TV.
I was in shock. I had the same feeling I had in the beginning of the year with Kobe Bryant. I had it with him last night. You don’t know how to react,” Garino added.
