Fenerbahce BEKO is set to clash against Zenit Saint Petersburg tonight (December 3) in EuroLeague Round 12, however, they will have to do it without injured Danilo Barthel.

“Danilo Barthel, who suffered bone marrow edema in the kneecap due to the blow he received during tactical training in Saint Petersburg, will not be able to take part in our match tonight,” Fenerbahce‘s announcement read.

The 29-year-old German big played 12 games with Fener so far in EuroLeague and Turkish League, averaging 8.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

His injury is a big blow for Fener which has been struggling since Nando De Colo got sidelined. They’re coming off four straight losses in EuroLeague and a tough overtime loss against Buyukcekmece in the domestic competition.

UPDATE:

40 minutes before the tipoff, Fenerbahce announced that Barthel will be included to the roster for the game after responding positively to treatment.
