Zalgiris Kaunas announced that guard/forward Steve Vasturia will miss two months due to a knee injury. The American player was injured in the Lithuanian League game vs. Rytas Vilnius.

Per Zalgiris:

Zalgiris will have to manage without Steve Vasturia in the coming months, as the American suffered an injury in Sunday’s game against Rytas Vilnius.

After examination, it was clear that the guard suffered a partial tear on his knee ligament. The severity of the injury will be clear next week, once the swelling reduces. After that it will be decided whether the 25-year-old will need surgery.

Nevertheless, Steve Vasturia is set to miss at least two months of action.

The guard has averaged 7.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in the Betsafe-LKL. His spot in practice will be taken by two Zalgiris-2 players, Paulius Murauskas and Mantas Rubstavicius.

18-year-old Rubstavicius was an important figure in Zalgiris-2, as he averaged 11.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

Murauskas was recently named Lithuania’s best U16 player, and had similar numbers in the NKL, as he put up 11.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
