The first generation of the EHCB Coaches Academy was launched yesterday. With over one hundred participants from 44 countries in attendance, reaching countries across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, North America, South America, Africa and Australia. As an association created by coaches and for coaches, this program embodies one of our most important founding principles, to educate basketball coaches from around the globe.
With that mission in mind, we are honored to be able to utilize our EHCB Member’s accumulated knowledge and experience, together with the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education from the University of Belgrade, to educate the future generation of coaches. This innovative program between Serbia’s academic experts and the EHCB member coaches will allow us to expand our reach to coaches from around the globe in a format suited for today’s digital reality. Between December 2020 and August 2021, participating coaches will engage in online lectures presented by faculty members and our EHCB Members. In June 2021 participants will get a chance to take part at the annual EHCB Coaches Congress where they will be joined by coaches from all over the globe and our EHCB members in-person.
The EHCB spirit was felt from the very first lecture, which took place yesterday. We welcomed the participating coaches coming from different backgrounds, cultures and proud to see them come together to listen intently and ask questions throughout the first module of the General Academic Lectures.
As president Zeljko Obradovic said: “Thanks to modern technologies the EHCB Coaches Academy can connect coaches from around the globe for 8 months as of today. We want to welcome all our colleagues from around the globe to our EHCB family. This program will reach a level of involvement that has not been possible in the past without those technologies. We the EHCB members feel blessed to have you with us on this journey. We would also like to thank the professors from the University of Belgrade for being next to us in educating coaches”.
