Antonis Koniaris’ expected move to Hapoel Holon on loan by Olympiacos was forced to be canceled, as the Greek guard could not travel to Israel due to COVID-19 restrictions. Israel entered its third lockdown this Sunday.

As reported by Greek SportFM and confirmed by Eurohoops sources, the new restrictions imposed in Israel due to the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases put Koniaris’ plans to travel to the country on hold.

Sunday, December 27 was the due date for the move to be completed and following these implications, Koniaris will remain in Olympiacos until further notice, even though he is not included in coach Giorgos Bartzokas’ game plans.

23-year-old Koniaris has only participated in one EuroLeague game this season against Baskonia, where he played for 5 minutes, producing one steal and one assist.
