Othello Hunter, a game-time decision due to back problems was cleared for action Tuesday, but lasted about two minutes in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 17 home affair opposite Zenit Saint-Petersburg before picking up an eye injury. His early exit proved costly for Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv.

Hunter, 34, was taken to a hospital and his team updated his status early Wednesday noting that a serious eye injury was ruled out. Further tests on the cut under his eye will determine his availability in upcoming fixtures.

After falling to 7-10 in Europe’s premier club continental competition, the Israeli powerhouse is scheduled to host Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem Thursday in a Winner League clash. They will move on to the domestic cup and Hapoel SP Tel Aviv Sunday, prior to resuming EuroLeague action and visiting ALBA Berlin next Thursday.
