Vassilis Spanoulis admitted that the time to hang his shoes after an enormously decorated career will likely come “soon.”
“Of course, I’ve thought about it. I’m 38 and I’m on my way to 39, it will probably come soon,” Spanoulis said in an interview for France 24.
“What I will do, I don’t know yet. I would like to continue doing something. thing related to basketball,” Spanoulis added regarding his life after playing. The Greek guard’s contract with Olympiacos expires at the end of the current season.
Spanoulis, a three-time EuroLeague champion and Final Four MVP with Panathinaikos (2009) and Olympiacos (2012, 2013) plus season MVP in 2013 will be 39 years old next August. Over a career that began in the previous century, he’s won numerous championship titles and individual distinctions on a club and international level with the Greek national team.
