EuroLeague CEO Jordi Bertomeu is hopeful that fans will be able to attend the 2021 Final Four that is planned to take place in Cologne, Germany.

Bertomeu said that while a full-capacity Final Four is out of the question, he can see some fan presence in the Lanxess Arena.

“We must rule out that we have a full arena, but I don’t rule out that we have an attendance, because the German state – where we are going to play – is one of those [places] that have been better,” Bertomeu said to Spanish news agency EFE. “But it’s impossible to make a prediction.”

The 2021 Final Four is schedule to be played from May 28 to 30. Lanxess Arena, that has a capacity of more than 18,000, will be modified

“I trust that the end of May we will have fans. If we’ll have 50 percent or 30 percent is something that nobody nows at the moment… It wouldn’t be reasonable to think that it [the arena] will be full.”
