Panathinaikos guard Lefteris Bochorides addressed the comments that Real Madrid coach Pablo Laso made about him following Wednesday’s game between the two teams.

In the second half of that match, Carroll landed on Bochorides’ foot during a 3-point jumper and got injured as a result. During the post-game presser, Laso asked for Bochorides to be sanctioned because of dangerous play.

“I’d like to talk about the play with Carroll,” Bochorides said to Novasports TV after the win of Panathinaikos over Valencia. “It was a very bad moment for me. Obviously, it wasn’t malicious, it didn’t happen on purpose, nor did I do anything willingly. It was a foul, an unsportsmanlike foul of course. I apologized immediately to the player and the Real bench. Laso is a great coach but small as a person for me, after the statements he made. To focus on such an unlucky moment – because I had been through an injury myself and I know what is like to be out – and target me like that is not right.”
