About a month after his departure from Barcelona, Thomas Heurtel could make his return to action with ASVEL Lyon Villeurbanne to according to reports by L’Equipe and confirmed by Eurohoops sources. Heurtel will decide after the February FIBA Qualifiers whether he will return to the court to finish the season with ASVEL. He has more options, but the French club is his priority due to his personal relationship with owner Tony Parker.
It should be noted that Heurtel will not be eligible to play in EuroLeague, but the club seeks to recruit the experienced guard for the French League until the end of the season.
31-year-old Heurtel was released by Barcelona after 4 seasons and if he accepts ASVEL’s offer, he will return to the French League for the first time since the 2009-10 season which he spent with Strasbourg.
Heurtel averaged 2.9 points, 2.4 assists in 13 minutes across 12 EuroLeague games this season with Barcelona.
