Nacho Rodriguez was removed from his position as FC Barcelona GM and Juan Carlos Navarro was promoted assuming his responsibilities, the Spanish powerhouse announced Friday shortly following Mundo Deportivo reporting on the updated front office structure.
Rodriguez, 51, was appointed general manager in March 2017 and had one year remaining in his contract.
Navarro, 40, after concluding his legendary playing career in 2018 stayed with Barca working in the front office.
Barcelona, after finishing first in the 2020-21 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season, will face eighth-placed Zenit Saint-Petersburg in a best-of-five series aiming to earn a place in the Final Four. At the domestic level, it ranks second behind real with a 26-4 ACB tally so far.
