Barcelona is signing Turkish center and reigning EuroLeague champion with Anadolu Efes Sertac Sanli to a two-year deal as beIN Sports reported and Eurohoops can confirm.
Sanli comes from a breakthrough season in his career. He began 2020-21 as a third backup option from the bench and became a starter for Efes gaining more minutes and a bigger role as the season progressed.
He ended up averaging 15.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks in the EuroLeague Final Four to help his team win the first championship title in the history of the club.
This will be Sanli’s first venture outside his native Turkey. However, with him having a break-out season it was obvious that there will be opportunities to pursue outside the Turkish borders for him.
Sanli is also a member of the Turkish national team and he is expected to be also a starter in the upcoming Olympic Qualifiers, where Turkey will compete in the tournament held in Canada.
