The Giannakopoulos era marking Panathinaikos for several decades will hit the big screen. The trailer of “Voyage to the Stars” was released on Friday as the movie was in production for several months, was delayed due to COVID, and is expected to be released in the autumn in Greek cinemas.
The title is a not to the “six stars” on Panathinaikos‘ jersey, which represent the six EuroLeague titles won by the basketball team.
The cast of actors is highlighted by renowned Greek thespian Danis Katranidis taking on the role of late owner Pavlos Giannakopoulos while rising star Argiris Pantzaras will be playing Dimitris Giannakopoulos.
The feature about the Giannakopoulos family’s dedication to the Greens is the second Greek basketball movie after AEK-based 1968 released in 2018.
