Victor Wembanyama is ready to follow the steps of Luka Doncic having Tony Parker as a mentor. It’s almost a dreamlike scenario, but the 17 years old big man who has already made his professional debut for Nanterre 92 has decided to move to ASVEL, the team owned by Tony Parker, according to BeBasket.

The transfer is expected to be complete next week. Nanterre will get just an 80.000 euros buyout, according to the French law since Wembanyama still is a teenager.

At 15 years, nine months, and 25 days old, Wembanyama became the second-youngest player after Stefan Petković to play in the EuroCup.

Almost one year later, on 23 September 2020, Wembanyama made his French LNB Pro A debut. He was named the best young player of the 2020-21 LNB ProA season.

Wembanyama opted to leave Nanterre and he is expected to continue his career with ASVEL, making in the upcoming 2021-22 season his EuroLeague debut.
