At 41 years of age, Felipe Reyes decided to hang his shoes.

Real Madrid longtime captain Felipe Reyes officially retired from basketball. The Blancos announced that Reyes will be given a ceremonial tribute and farewell by the club, with the presence of president Florentino Perez Thursday (24/6).

Reyes leaves Real Madrid with a trophy case full of silverware. Since he joined the club in 2004 he won two EuroLeague championship titles, seven Spanish League championship titles, six Spanish Copa del Rey titles and five Supercup titles.

The crowning achievementS for Reyes with the Spanish national team on a global level came with the gold medal in the 2006 World Cup the silver medals in the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games and the Olympic bronze in 2016. He was also champion in three EuroBasket tournaments while winning silver medal in two and bronze in one.

On an individual level, Reyes was named Spanish League and Finals MVP twice while earning four selections to the All-ACB First Team. In 2015, he made the All-EuroLeague First Team
