Panathinaikos OPAP Athens announced Saturday they have signed coach Dimitris Priftis to a deal, confirming Eurohoops’ prior reports. The deal between the two sides will be valid for the next three seasons, according to the announcement. According to Eurohoops sources, the first two years are guaranteed and there’s an option for the third.

Priftis returns to Greece after spending the previous four seasons with UNICS Kazan.

“It is a great pleasure and honor to work at Panathinaikos. At the same time, it is a great responsibility and I am fully aware of the requirements and the difficulties. I know it is a special period for the team and there are many things I have to manage. Everything must be done in a collective spirit and in this effort, it is necessary for everyone to contribute. From the people of the team, the administration, the coaches, the staff, the players -of course- but also the people who are an integral part of the club. I thank the administration for its trust”, Priftis said upon the announcement of his deal with the Greens.
