The EuroLeague MVP may stay in the old continent after all, becoming one of the best paid players in EuroLeague’s history

Talentwise, Vasilje Micic is NBA-bound and that was evident during this season beyond any doubt. With the Oklahoma City Thunder having his right and rumors about the Chicago Bulls emerging as possible suitors it seemed certain that Micic’s days in Europe were over.

However, that might not be the case. According to Eurohoops sources, Anadolu Efes has offered a more than lucrative offer to Micic, which will make him one of the best-paid players ever in Europe.

The challenge, of course, of playing in the NBA is obvious for any player, even if Micic may not be that eager.

The point is that Efes has made an excellent effort to keep the player in their roster and there’s optimism in Istanbul that after all, Micic may postpone his trip to the NBA and stay for one or two more years in Europe.

Micic was named the EuroLeague MVP and then led Efes to the first EuroLeague title in the history of the club by posting 25 points on 8-14 shots, five assists, and three steals in a win over Barcelona in the championship game. He won Final Four MVP after posting 25.0 points (15-33 f.g.), 5.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 steal in the semifinal win over CSKA Moscow and the final.
