Olimpia Milano completed its coaching staff with the addition of Gianmarco Pozzecco as the assistant coach next to head coach Ettore Messina, the team announced Wednesday. Mario Fioretti, Stefano Bizzozero and Marco Esposito complete the Milan technical staff.

“At this point of my career, the opportunity to work for Ettore Messina couldn’t come at a better time for me, I couldn’t ask for anything better than that”, Pozzecco said after the announcement of his agreement with the Italian side. “I approach this journey with enthusiasm, humbleness and a strong sense of responsibility. My job will be the same job the other assistant coaches will have, to create the ideal conditions for the head coach to make the better decisions for the team.”

In the pat, Pozzecco has coached Capo d’Orlando, Varese, at Cedevita Zagreb (as Veljko Mrsic’s assistant), Fortitudo and Sassari with which he won the 2019 FIBA Europe Cup and the 2019 Italian Super Cup.
