Despite facing traveling issues due to the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic, Maccabi was able to receive clearance to travel to Greece for their upcoming participation in the preseason tournament hosted by Olympiacos in Piraeus.

The Israeli Ministry of Health issued the travel permit and Giannis Sfairopoulos’ squad will be able to participate in the tournament which will take place on September 4-5, joined also by EuroCup champions Monaco and Greek side Lavrio, as reported by Walla’s Arale Weisberg.

It now remains to be seen whether Maccabi will be able to get another permit for its scheduled participation at the “Pavlos Giannakopoulos” tournament in OAKA on September 18-19, while the team is also scheduled to take part in the Cyprus “Neofytos Chandriotis” tournament (September 9-12), alongside CSKA, Olympiacos and Zenit.
