Baskonia is back on duty with a win at the City of Cagliari Tournament

Baskonia held off Napoli with a 75-70 victory to open its preseason at the City of Cagliari Tournament on Friday.

Dusko Ivanovic selected Jayson Granger, Arturs Kurucs, Tadas Sedekerskis, Rokas Giedraitis and Landry Nnoko as his first starting five for the upcoming 2021-22 season. Alec Peters led the selection with 16 points, Giedraitis added 14 points and Nnoko posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Markis Mcduffie and Frank Elegard led the Italian side with 15 and 14 points respectively.

Partizan also began its preparation on Friday and grabbed a comfortable 88-67 win against Zlatibor. Aleksa Avramovic led Zeljko Obradovic‘s squad with 19 points, Zach LeDay posted 18 and Alen Smailagić added 16.

Dinamo Sassari edged FC Bayern Munich 86-85 in the second semifinal of the City of Cagliari Tournament. The Italian team advanced to the final, where they will face Baskonia.

Anthony Clemmons was the leading scorer for Sassari with 19 points, Eimantas Bendzius had 18 points and Christian Mekowulu added 16.

Andreas Obst paced Bayern with 14 points, Deshaun Thomas had 13 while Vladimir Lucic and Corey Walden both added 11 points.
