Crvena Zvezda leaves Munich with a trophy in its bags.

Thanks to a basket by former team captain Luka Mitrovic, Crvena Zvezda beat Bayern Munich 70 – 68 to win the 2021 Magenta Sports Cup preseason tournament. The reigning ABA League champions were coming of a rout over Panathinaikos Athens.

Mitrovic finished with 12 points and nine rebounds while Nikola Kalinic produced 14 points for Red Star. Nate Wolters had nine points and Austin Hollins scored eight.

Augustine Rubit (16 points, eight rebounds), DeShaun Thomas (12 points) and Darrun Hilliard (12 points) were Bayern’s top contributors.

Earlier, Panathinaikos won a double-overtime clash against Virtus Bologna thanks to a stunning performance and a couple of crunch-time shots by Ioannis Papapetrou.

In Cyprus, CSKA Moscow routed Olympiacos 85 – 68. Iffe Lundberg had 15 points and Will Clyburn with Alexey Shved scored 14 apiece.

Sasha Vezenkov led Olympiacos with 17 points. Kostas Sloukas finished with 16 points plus seven assists.

Zenit st. Petersburg made short work of Greek club Lavrio 79 – 51. Sergey Karasev led all scorers with 11.
