Anadolu Efes defeated Zalgiris Kaunas 82 – 60 to win the 2021 edition of the Gloria Cup preseason tournament.
Bugrahan Tuncer led all scorers with 18 points plus five assists while Adrien Moerman finished with 16 points plus six rebounds for Efes. Filip Petrusev posted 11 points and eight rebounds for the winning side that was leading 49 – 28 at halftime.
Joffrey Lauvergne registered a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds for Zalgiris while Lukas Lekavicius scored nine.
In an unofficial rematch of last season’s EuroCup Final, runner-up Unics Kazan downed champion AS Monaco 85 – 84 behind Lorenzo Brown’s 20 points and 10 assists. Monaco came back from a 49 – 31 halftime deficit to take the lead down the stretch but couldn’t translate the comeback to victory.
Artem Klimenko had 15 points and Andrey Vorontsevich 10 for Unics. Rob Gray led Monaco with 16 points while Jerry Boutsielle finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
