Zalgiris has just changed coaches with Jure Zdovc coming in to replace Martin Schiller and the new coach has already got a problem. He won’t be able to count on Joffrey Lauvergne in the upcoming month at the very least, as the French big man suffered a serious shoulder injury.

Per Zalgiris:

Zalgiris loses Joffrey Lauvergne for foreseeable future after big man got injured in the EuroLeague’s game against Zenit St Peterburg.

Lauvergne collided with the opponent and fell on the floor at the beginning of the third quarter. After leaving to locker room the Frenchman tried to come back to the court, but after few minutes had to leave the floor again.

Thorough medical examination showed that the shoulder injury is serious and Lauvergne will have to miss at least 4-6 weeks. He will be evaluated accordingly while his shoulder heals.

After losing one of the main big guys Zalgiris will be looking for reinforcement to strengthen the team in the paint.
