CSKA Moscow announced that forward Tornike Shengelia will miss the team’s “next matches” due to a shoulder injury. The Georgian forward was named the EuroLeague MVP in Round 2 and 3 of the regular season.

Shengelia felt pain in his shoulder after Tuesday’s win of CSKA over Zenit and he’ll be undergoing examinations that will determine how long he’ll stay out. “Unfortunately, anything can happen,” CSKA coach Dimitris Itoudis said ahead of the game against Crvena Zvezda Friday. “He felt better today but not to the level that is required for tough play. Zvezda play at the level of fouling, they are very aggressive on both halves of the court.”

CSKA is also without center Nikola Milutinov who is expected to stay out at least for one more week.

In the first three EuroLeague regular season games, Shengelia is averaging 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
