The Ordinary General Assembly of Real Madrid, between accounts and budgets, had a basketball moment. Florentino Perez did not hesitate to use the important event to announce the news that surely made all Madrid fans happy.
Felipe Reyes, who a few months ago announced his retirement from the courts after 17 seasons of wearing the white jersey, has returned to the club as ambassador.
“Felipe Reyes, another eternal captain, deserves a special mention,” Perez said and announced the news.
“He is a symbol and legend of Real Madrid, a great example of dedication and passion. After 17 seasons of defending this shirt with greatness, he has put an end to a long career. But I want you to know that he will continue with us as an ambassador of the club.”
Felipe will not lack work since the section’s calendar is getting tighter every year, a requirement that Florentino himself wanted to mention without losing sight of the ambitious goals that Real Madrid always has.
“This year will be very difficult due to a grueling schedule. Last season set a record in our history with 87 games. We have reinforced ourselves with great players to fight for the objectives. We have one of the best squads in Europe.”
