Panathinaikos coach Dimitris Prifits was forced to skip the post-game flash interview and presser after the EuroLeague win of his team over Zenit St. Petersburg due to a calf injury he suffered during the game.

“I don’t know what happened,” Panathinaikos assistant coach Vassilis Symtsak said. He represented Panathinaikos in the press conference following the match. “I think that when he was walking he felt something in his calf. He feels nice now because we won the game,” Symtsak added with a chuckle. “If the result was different, maybe he’d feel worse. But he’s OK now. I believe he will be OK.”

Priftis suffered a minor strain while he was watching his Panathinaikos bouncing back to wins in EuroLeague following five straight losses. His team was coming off a big victory over archrival Olympiacos Piraeus.

Panathinaikos was without former NBA guard Yogi Ferrell who is expected to part ways with the team. “I wouldn’t like to talk about Ferrell. When you talk with the coach, he’ll explain everything himself,” Symtsak said.
