Tyson Carter has been a revelation for European basketball with Lavrio in the Basketball Champions League and now he’s moving on to Zenit St Petersburg for his first EuroLeague experience.

Lavrio coach Christos Serelis confirmed the move after the victory against Iraklis in the Greek Basket League. “We will try to “take advantage” of him, as long as he is with us“, Serelis said. “We have entered the market for a replacement and we will try to bring players to work on this project”.

Carter, 23, posted 31 points against Iraklis and he’s expected to be with Lavrio for their upcoming Basketball Champions League matchup against Unicaja (21/12, 6:30 CET), as well as the Greek Cup game against Panathinaikos (27/12, 16:00 CET). He will then be able to travel to St Petersburg and join Zenit.

I’m just looking forward to whatever comes next in my career. There have been some good opportunities awaiting“, Parker stated after Saturday’s win. “I feel ready [for the next step]. I work on my game, I’m a student of the game and I feel I can adjust to anything in basketball”.

In his second professional season, Carter has posted averages of 17.6 points, 2.8 assists and 1.6 rebounds across 5 games played in BCL, while he had 16.5 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.8 rebounds in 11 Greek League games.
