ASVEL Villeurbanne announced that eight members of the team tested positive for coronavirus: Four players and four staff members.

In light of these cases, ASVEL says that the club requested the postponement of Monday’s (27/12) French Jeep Elite game against Limoges at home. LNB declined this request with ASVEL saying that it “takes note of this decision.”

ASVEL is the latest EuroLeague team to be plagued by multiple coronavirus cases over the last weeks. Olimpia Milano has registered 11 cases (the most recent on 27/12) among team members, Real Madrid has nine players and head coach Pablo Laso out with COVID-19 while four Panathinaikos members have tested positive for coronavirus.
