Anadolu Efes announced Saturday (1/1) that seven players and one staff member tested positive for coronavirus. They immediately entered isolation.

Efes is the eighth EuroLeague club with several coronavirus cases over the last weeks during an outbreak around the competition. Olimpia Milano (11 cases) Barcelona (nine cases), Olympiacos Piraeus (nine cases), Panathinaikos Athens (11 cases), Fenerbahce Beko (three cases), ASVEL Villeurbanne (eight cases) and Real Madrid (11 cases) have been quite affected by COVID-19 and five EuroLeague matches of Round 18 were postponed.

Efes is facing Bayern Munich on January 7 and that game will be suspended as well if the Turkish side isn’t able to register at least eight players.
