Olympiacos prevailed easily over Zadar 85-62 in the first day of the tournament thanks to its excellent defense and the good performance by Lojeski, Tsairelis, Young and Kavvadas.
Spanoulis, Pritezis, Hackett and Milutinov arrived in Croatia a little before the game and of course didn’t play. So, Giannis Sfairopoulos extended the rotations of the Reds (who wore their “black” shirts”) giving a lot of playing time to Tsairelis, Kavvadas, Toliopoulos and Mouratos.
Tsairelis (13 points with 4/4 2ps) was very good and showed that he can grab any given chance, while Kavvadas and Toliopoulos helped also a lot. However, Lojeski (15p with 4/7 shots), Papapetrou (11p) and Young (10p) made the difference. Ramljak (14 points, 6 rebounds) was the only one among Zadar who distinguished.
