With eight out of nine total Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Round 19 games suspended due to COVID-19 hardships, Zenit St. Petersburg confirmed Thursday that five tests have turned in positive (four players, one team member), ahead of the team’s trip to Milan.

Per Zenit’s announcement:

“Five members of the BC Zenit (4 players and 1 staff) have returned positive results in the latest COVID-19 tests before the road game against Olimpia Milano.

If new cases are identified our Club will stick to the EuroLeague regulations.”

Zenit’s upcoming game against Olimpia Milano is scheduled to take place this upcoming Friday (January 7, 20:30 CET), though the sole display of Round 19 seems to be at stake.

For the first time this season, EuroLeague had to postpone nearly all of its scheduled games for the week. Just on Tuesday, clubs have agreed to shorten the quarantine period to 7 days for vaccinated players.
