Panathinaikos’ Georgios Papagiannis suffered a strain and his condition will be re-evaluated in the coming days

Panathinaikos OPAP Athens big man Georgios Papagiannis will remain sidelined in the Greens’ upcoming EuroLeague game against Anadolu Efes on the road (Round 22, January 21).

Papagiannis has suffered a strain in his quadriceps and his condition will be re-evaluated in the following days. The Greek center has is having a career-best season with Panathinaikos in the 2021-22 campaign, with an average of 9.5 points, 8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks across 18 contests so far.

Panathinaikos will look to snap a four-game skid against Efes in their first road game since December 14, 2021, in order to improve their 4-14 record in the EuroLeague.

Efes (9-10) is also seeking to bounce back from two consecutive defeats to UNICS and Barcelona in the recent weeks.
