Georgetown product Markel Starks is leaving Igokea and will join Fenerbahce for the rest of the season, according to Eurohoops sources. All sides involved are near a deal.
The move is happening after Igokea got eliminated in the Basketball Champions League. Starks had 41 points and 22 assists over the three Play-In games against Filou Oostende.
He showed consistent scoring throughout the season with over 40% shooting from both the two-point and three-point territory while what truly set him apart was his playmaking ability.
Starks played this season with the Bosnian team in BCL, as well as in the ABA League, logging a total of 23 games including 17 starts.
He averaged 12.7 points and 6.8 assists in BCL while he posted 10.2 points and 5.6 assists in ABA.
