In what was a key game for both sides, FC Bayern managed to get the road win over LDLC ASVEL by being in control from wire to wire on the way to a 77-68 win. Thanks to this result, they are now tied in the 9th spot of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague standings with a 10-11 record, while ASVEL dropped to 9-12.

“I have no clue and I will not look at the rankings, because we have a game in 48 hours when it’s the right time, I will look at the rankings”, said Bayern coach Andrea Trinchieri when asked about his team getting near the 8th spot and the playoffs.

Just before the start of the game, FC Bayern announced that they parted ways with KC Rivers, who had signed with the team after the injury of Darrun Hilliard, however, they proved that they had enough manpower for the easy win.

Augustine Rubit had a stellar game for the winning side with 17 points on 8/11 FG and 10 rebounds. “I just tried to do what my team needs for me and this night was not different”, he said after the final buzzer.

Ognjen Jaramaz added 11 points, but the defense was the name of the game for the Germans.

“We performed like a team, everyone was ready to help and we know it’s not easy to win in Lyon, this is our third road game in six days”, added Trinchieri.

Bayern never trailed and entered the last quarter with a 19-point advantage (61-42) and ASVEL couldn’t do much.

Veteran James Gist with 10 points tried to do his best for ASVEL against his former team, Chris Jones and Youshoupha Fall with 14 points each were the top scorers of ASVEL, however, they didn’t have any answers to an amazing shooting night by Bayern.

The guests shot 70% in 2-pointers (21-30) and 47,8% in threes (11/23) and you simply can’t win against those numbers.
