CSKA Moscow President Andrey Vatutin recently admitted that the team “needs a point guard”, and backcourt reinforcement is about to happen with the addition of Allerik Freeman, per mozzartsport.com.

According to the report, the two sides are close to an agreement and Freeman will move from Bursaspor and EuroCup back to the EuroLeague with CSKA.

Freeman has been on the radar of more EuroLeague teams, with Fenerbahce being a reported suitor for the American player. It comes as no surprise provided his impressive stats so far in the season. Freeman leads all Bursaspor scorers with 19.6 points scored per EuroCup game, while his numbers go up to 20.6 points per contest in the Turkish BSL.

When the move is completed, Freeman will return to EuroLeague after last playing in the competition with LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne in 2020-21, where he averaged 7.4 points across 20 minutes per game.
