LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne re-signed Marcos Knight for the remainder of the 2021-22 season, the team announced Thursday.

Knight, 32, was picked up on a short-term deal following David Lighty’s injury in November. Moving through his first season in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, he has put up 8.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.0 steals, and 0.8 assists per contest. At the domestic level, he is averaging 9.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.4 steals per game so far in his second run in the French League following the 2020-21 stint at AS Monaco.

At La Roca Team, he was crowned 7DAYS EuroCup champion. The former Middle Tennessee standout previously displayed his talents in Spain, Turkey, and Germany.

ASVEL, guided by T.J. Parker, currently ranks 13th in Europe’s premier club competition. The 9-14 record sits 2.5 games behind the top eight spots leading to the 2022 Playoffs. Next up, taking on defending champion Anadolu Efes in Istanbul Friday (18:30 CET).

The 11-6 record in France’s Betclic Elite LNB Pro A sits in a three-way tie with Monaco and Le Mans in second place, three games behind leader Boulogne Metropolitans 92. The next domestic fixture features SIG Strasbourg visiting Astroballe Sunday (19:00 CET).

On the injury list, Elie Okobo slated for surgery on his right shoulder was recently sidelined for approximately six weeks. William Howard (knee), Victor Wembanyama (shoulder), Raymar Morgan (back), and Lighty (hand) are out as well but are expected to return to action within the next weeks.
