FC Bayern Munich stunned Maccabi Tel Aviv at home with a 70-52 victory for Round 25 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague to bounce back and improve to a 12-12 record in the standings, on the eve of the long-term contract extension of team GM Marko Pesic.

Corey Walden paced the German side with 13 points, Vladimir Lucic followed with 9 points, Leon Radosevic tapped 8 points, while Othello Hunter and Augustine Rubit posted 7 points each to lift Bayern to win.

After being down 16-13 in the first quarter, the hosts recovered the deficit in the second quarter with improved defense to remain up 30-29 at halftime and never lost their lead since to cruise to a key victory at home. A 21-11 outburst in the fourth quarter secured the victory for Bayern, which ends the week with a 1-1 record after their defeat to FC Barcelona.

Scottie Wilbekin’s 20-point effort wasn’t enough to help Maccabi extend its winning streak and now the Israeli side has fallen to a 10-12 record. Jalen Reynolds and Ante Zizic added up 7 points each for Giannis Sfairopoulos’ squad.
