“We inform you that player Cory Higgins will undergo surgery this coming Monday, February 14, for chronic plantar fasciitis in his left foot,” Barca’s statement read.

The usual recovery time after such surgery is 6-12 weeks. It should also be noted that this isn’t the first time Higgins is facing such an issue. Back in July 2020, he underwent a procedure for the same diagnosis but in his right foot. He needed around ten weeks of recovery before getting back on the court.

Higgins missed the past five games of the team in Euroleague and the Spanish league with the last one he played being against ASVEL on January 27th. He scored five points against the French opponent in 16 minutes of play.

The 33-year-old has been averaging 9.2 points, 1.7 assists, and 1.6 rebounds this season in Euroleague, as well as 10.7 points, 2.1 assists, and 1.9 boards in the Spanish league.
