Euroleague Basketball announced that the Health and Safety Protocols have been modified in response to the decreased number of positive cases across the competition.

Per Euroleague Basketball:

Euroleague Basketball would like to announce that the 2021-22 Health and Safety Protocols have been modified to reflect the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The modifications respond to the decreased number of infected individuals across the league based on the analysis performed by the league’s medical officers. This analysis has shown that the spread of the Omicron variant of the virus has decelerated in recent weeks.

Among the modifications found in the updated version of the Health and Safety Protocols are:

  • The use of facemask by team members on the bench is now optional.
  • Individuals who are vaccinated or have previously tested positive for COVID-19 and subsequently received medical clearance will be exempt from pre and post-game PCR /RAT.
  • The maximum number of individuals per zone will not be limited.

The modifications to the Health & Safety Protocols will be applied to both the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and the 7DAYS EuroCup with immediate effect and aim to protect and promote the regularity and fairness of the competitions.
