ALBA held on to beat ASVEL and move on with their second consecutive win

After an intense game that came down the wire, ALBA Berlin escaped with an 82-80 victory against LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne on the road, for Round 27 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

Jaleen Smith led the way for the German side, dropping 16 points (4-of-8 threes) along with 5 rebounds, Jonas Mattisseck followed with 13 points, Maodo Lo added 12 points and Johannes Thiemann was added to the list of top scorers with 10 points and 4 rebounds.

The German side has now won its second consecutive game to improve to a 9-16 record in the standings.

ASVEL’s Chris Jones paced all scorers of the game with 22 points, while Paul Lacombe dropped 18 points and Marcos Knight exited the game with 11 points and 6 rebounds.

ASVEL dropped its sixth consecutive game to fall to a 9-17 record. They had previously beat the German side 71-67 on the road for Round 2 back in October.
