Vatutin to Bolomboy: You gave us an excellent reason for litigation

CSKA Moscow president Andrey Vatutin reacted to Joel Bolomboy posting an email by club vice president Natalia Furaeva on his social media. In a sarcastic tone, Vatutin mentioned that he was “pleased to receive news” from the player and, essentially, threatened to sue him for publishing the email that was sent by Furaeva to his agent.

Here’s Vatutin’s statement via Match TV:

“Dear Joel! Although we haven’t seen each other for a long time – in February you left so quickly that you didn’t even have time to say goodbye – we were pleased to receive news today from the USA that everything is fine with you. I want to thank you for the slightly belated gift to the club for Easter, we really appreciate it. We are talking about the publication in social networks of official correspondence between CSKA and your agent.

Perhaps, while enjoying an unplanned vacation, you simply forgot that you signed the club’s internal regulations and, under the current contract, made statements discrediting the club’s reputation. Alas, together with the departure, that is, the breach of contract, this will be another excellent reason for litigation. I wish you a good rest and well-being. Andrey.”

The Ukrainian-born Bolomboy left Moscow after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, together with several players of the EuroLeague powerhouse, never to return. CSKA sent an email to his agent, saying that Bolomboy should come back to Moscow no later than May 22 and if that doesn’t happen, then the club will take legal action due to breach of contract.
