The spanish player thinks that the team made a good job overall but the third quarter was the reason they lost

BELGRADE – After the defeat against Real Madrid, Álex Abrines spoke to Eurohoops about the first loss after six classics against the eternal rival in the ‘clásico’. Jus like Pierre Oriola, Abrines mentioned the small details as the cause of the ‘culé’ defeat.

“We need to take more care of the details. In games of this caliber, any mistake is heavily penalized and any team that manages to reach the Final Four is going to punish you much more than those in the regular phase. Yesterday we were penalized only one quarter. Yesterday we did a good job but that third quarter killed us”.

Many, Sarunas Jasikevicius the first, are already talking about Barça lacking a killer mentality. And Abrines agrees with them: “It is possible, during the season we have already had many occasions where we tried to kill the game and we didn’t. And in the end, the other team, with the talent and the weapons they have, managed to come back and these are the games that is hard to get back into. In the end, when you are having a 10 or 12 point lead and they come back at the end it’s the other team that has the confidence on the final stretches. It’s a pending task that we have and we will work so that we don’t happen again.”
